World War I (1914-18) made BMW a multi-role engineer company: before building cars, this manufacturer built planes and motorcycles (officially since 1916). Threatened by Mercedes who wants to buy it in 1960, BMW gets involved in racing, like Audi and Mercedes. The numerous BMW restylages can be found online, on the BMW forum.
